Kartik Tyagi is a Senior Policy Strategist at the North Carolina Dept of Health and Human Services, leading policy strategy, communications, and external engagement for the Department’s Division of Child and Family Well-Being. He graduated with a BSPH in Health Policy and Management from the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health with Highest Honors in May 2023.
During his time at UNC, he was a Disease Prevention and Health Promotion Fellow within the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health at the US Department of Health and Human Services and was involved extensively in Student Government and advocacy, proud to serve his peers through several experiences, including as President of the Senior Class of 2023 and as Undergraduate Student Body Vice President.
For nine years, Kartik has been a member of HOSA-Future Health Professionals. He has witnessed firsthand HOSA’s boundless potential in connecting students to the health industry pipeline to minimize long-term workforce shortages in one of our world’s fastest growing industries – health – culminating with his service as HOSA’s 2022-2023 International President.
