“I’ve never regretted anything I’ve done, even the things that I’ve failed at. I’ve often regretted not trying something really big, because you’ll never know.” – Dean Kamen
Atlas joined during their freshman year after being told about HOSA in 8th grade. They originally joined to help their friend have a partner for Health Career Display but was exposed to parts of the medical field they had no clue about. Since then, they have dedicated many hours to the variety of events and information to learn more about HOSA.
Atlas has had plans to go for a robotics type degree, double majoring in mechanical engineering and computer science. They want to innovate and expand the future through the functionality of robots. Creating new machinery and equipment could improve and elevate healthcare to the next level. They have also been recently looking into Speech Language Pathology and becoming a pediatric speech therapist or a relationship therapist. They aim during their term to help create and grow HOSA chapters in rural areas to keep health care everywhere. They would love to connect and help support smaller chapters in HOSA. When they’re not focusing on HOSA they are running around with their robotics team and coalition to set up events, practices, and meetings. They also enjoy spending time with their two puppies cuddling up and playing a video game. When they can find the time they enjoy seeing live music of local bands in their area. Atlas is excited to spend more time with MN HOSA this year and help foster the future health professionals.
