Bill started in healthcare at the age of 19, working ambulance as an EMT for Allina while in college. He has worked ambulance in the metro and at Brainerd International Raceway, and North Memorial’s Emergency Department. He transitioned to teaching EMS at Spring Lake Park High School and has taught First Aid/CPR, Nursing Assistant, Emergency Medical Responder, EMT, and Personal Protection for Women since 1988. Bill teaches at the high school with his wife and has 3 children, two pursuing careers in healthcare. He takes student learning outside the classroom at various community events and the Dominican Republic for a medical mission trip experience like no other. When he has free time, you will find him riding his motorcycle during the warmer weather season and spending time with his family.

Bill’s favorite part about being on the HOSA Board is the “absolutely great group of people to work with. They love kids, they love the field of healthcare and are on the board to melt the two together. These are people willing to roll up their sleeves and do the work to make multiple events happen to expose students to healthcare and give them a chance to network with enthusiastic people working in healthcare”
