“And by the way, everything in life is writable about if you have the outgoing guts to do it, and the imagination to improvise. The worst enemy to creativity is self-doubt.” -Sylvia Plath
Upon discovering the organization on a summer afternoon in 2022, Ella could not have anticipated how HOSA-Future Health Professionals would mold her identity, motivations, and collaborative spirit over the course of the following year. Inspired by the testimonies of past HOSA members and the abundance of opportunity waiting to be embraced, Ella co-founded Edina High School’s chapter at the beginning of her junior year. Directing meetings and engaging club members enhanced her confidence, enabling Ella to foster personal connections with new peers and mentors at various conferences. Now a senior, Ella is honored to serve Minnesota as the Officer of Public Relations, where she hopes to help everyone build their own connections and feel welcome as forever members of the HOSA community. Additionally, she is dedicated to empowering individual voices by offering more platforms for members to share their perspectives, ideas, and feedback. Ella intends to reflect her core values of honesty, compassion, and conviction through her service as a state leader and beyond. After high school, Ella plans to pursue an undergraduate degree in neuroscience on a pre-medicine track while completing research to further scientific innovation. She ultimately aspires to practice a pediatric specialty and provide quality medical care for families in need. Outside of her academic pursuits, Ella is an avid synchronized swimmer, tactile crafter (she loves to knit and sew, and hopefully one day crochet), and music enthusiast. She plays in jazz and concert bands and is always curating a new playlist on Spotify. As a self-proclaimed iMovie extraordinaire, Ella has a robust collection of original productions and an acute awareness of the app’s many delightful features. Creativity occupies her mind, so she is excited to implement her artistic ideas into her work with HOSA. Overall, this organization has surrounded her with a supportive community and offered a space to grow as a leader, thinker, and collaborator. Looking towards the year ahead, Ella is beyond excited to continue learning from talented members, uplift individual voices, and embody the spirit of HOSA-Future Health Professionals.
