Summary:
Grishma is a junior at Math and Science Academy and has been involved in HOSA for two years. Although she has not held an official local officer title, she has served as a chapter intern and regularly took on responsibilities typically handled by officers, including managing member information, stepping in when leaders were absent, and helping design and lead engaging medical activities during meetings. She has also supported outreach and membership growth efforts, including organizing a fundraiser during Breast Cancer Awareness Month by selling pink ribbon bracelets. She has attended Mid-Winter and State Leadership Conference and has competed in Sports Medicine, Health Career Display, Medical Terminology, Biomedical Debate, Nutrition, and Behavioral Health. Her placements include 4th in Sports Medicine and 10th in Health Career Display at Mid-Winter, along with 10th in the Nutrition test at SLC. Grishma is particularly interested in statewide engagement and access, and her primary initiative idea is a chapter buddy system that pairs nearby chapters to share resources, coordinate transportation, and collaborate on funding so more students, especially those in rural or lower-resource areas, can participate fully in HOSA opportunities.
