Summary:
Gavin is a junior at Eagan High School and currently serves as the District 196 HOSA President, supporting four chapters across Eagan, Apple Valley, Eastview, and Rosemount with a combined membership of approximately 321 students. As a local officer he has focused heavily on chapter growth, organization, and mentorship. Earlier in his HOSA involvement, he helped build his school chapter from just two members into a group of more than one hundred active participants by organizing guest speakers, leading meetings, coordinating sports medicine workshops, and hosting service projects such as an Andrew’s Bravery Box toy drive. He is known for stepping into leadership roles when challenges arise. During a chapter information meeting, an officer responsible for running the HOSA Olympics activity canceled minutes before the event. Gavin quickly gathered the remaining officers, reassigned roles, and reorganized the six-station activity so the meeting could continue smoothly. He also mentors newer members by organizing skill workshops and learning techniques alongside them so he can teach effectively. Gavin has attended Fall Leadership Conference, Medical Reserve Corps Camp, Mid-Winter Conference, State Leadership Conference, and the International Leadership Conference. He has competed in events including Behavioral Health, Mental Health Promotion, Forensic Science, and CPR/First Aid, earning 2nd place in Forensic Science at the Mid-Winter Conference.
