“Sucesss is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it.” – Maya Angelou
Salma was introduced to HOSA as a sophomore when she joined her school’s HOSA chapter. A year later, Salma was introduced to an opportunity of interning for the HOSA state leadership team. Joining the Hype team internship taught Salma multiple life-long lessons such as the importance of making connections and how to work coherently as a team.
As a senior at Mounds View High School, Salma plans to pursue a career in medical law. Her main goal is to bring her love for advocacy as well as her interests in the healthcare setting to bring a strong impact to underrepresented communities. Through HOSA, Salma has acquired valuable connections, strong leadership opportunities, as well as a chance to explore her career path in various ways.
As the Senior Hype Intern, Salma plans on helping share Minnesota HOSA’s purpose by planning fun events during each of the conferences. She intends to make these events inclusive and engaging as she believes that creating a bond between everyone will make the healthcare system stronger.
Outside of professional settings, Salma enjoys reading murder mysteries, going to history museums, and trying different cuisine around the world. On the weekends, Salma can be found at Debate competitions arguing to her heart’s content. Salma is beyond elated to serve as a senior intern for the Hype team and she is thrilled to give back to the HOSA community.
