Shawn first heard about HOSA at summer band camp through a friend, and instantly knew it was for her. She joined her sophomore year and never looked back. After diving into all that HOSA had to offer, she quickly fell in love with the community. She is honored to be re-elected to serve as your 2026-2027 VP of Outreach
Growing up, Shawn was endlessly curious about how things worked and had a heart for helping others. Healthcare always seemed like the right fit. Thanks to the support and encouragement she’s found through HOSA, with help and support she’s pinpointed her career path, becoming a nurse. She’s also passionate about working with kids, from babysitting neighbors to teaching in her child development class and coaching. Nothing makes her smile more than seeing children grow into their own.
When she’s not in school, Shawn is probably doing one of two things: something HOSA-related or practicing Color Guard. She joined Lakeville Guard in seventh grade after a friend invited her to a practice, and one season quickly turned into eleven. During her tenth season, she started coaching the elementary Cadets team, and now, Wednesdays with them are one of the best parts of her week. Whether she’s spinning, coaching, or trying a new trick, Shawn can’t imagine her life without Color Guard… just like she can’t imagine it without HOSA.
