Honor Chapters

A HOSA Honor Chapter is a local chapter that has demonstrated strong leadership, active member engagement, and consistent participation in Minnesota HOSA–Future Health Professionals programs throughout the year. Chapters that earn this designation have organized meaningful activities for their members, such as service projects, fundraisers, guest speakers, and conference participation, while maintaining communication with state leadership and promoting HOSA within their school community. The Honor Chapter recognition highlights chapters that uphold the values and standards of HOSA and provide high-quality experiences that support the development of future health professionals.

What do Honor Chapters get?

Recognition at State Leadership Conference (SLC)
Honor Chapters receive official Honor Chapter recognition at SLC. This publicly recognizes the chapter’s leadership, organization, and engagement throughout the year.

Custom Trading Item at SLC
Honor Chapters receive a custom-designed trading item that they can share or trade with other chapters during the conference.

Eligibility for HOSA Day at the Capitol
Only Honor Chapters are eligible to apply to attend HOSA Day at the Capitol in April. This event allows students to meet with Minnesota state representatives and advocate for health education and the impact of HOSA in their communities.

Recognition of Chapter Excellence
The designation signals that a chapter consistently provides meaningful opportunities for members through leadership, service, professional development, and conference participation. It helps build credibility for the chapter within the school, district, and the broader Minnesota HOSA community.

Stronger Chapter Culture
Because the requirements encourage service, leadership development, guest speakers, and state engagement, chapters that pursue Honor Chapter status often end up with more organized officers, better programming, and higher member participation.
