Dharinya’s HOSA journey began when she walked past a lab room during her freshman year and noticed fake arms spread across the tables. Curious, she learned they were being used for a HOSA competitive event and attended her first meeting soon after. What started as a simple laugh quickly became a passion for healthcare and a community where she truly felt she belonged. Through HOSA, Dharinya gained confidence, became the youngest local officer on a team of seniors, and discovered her passion for leadership and service. Her passion continued to grow through the HOSA HOST Internship, where she developed her communication skills and leadership skills while gaining valuable experience. Watching Minnesota HOSA state officers inspire chapters across the state showed her that she wanted to do more than participate in HOSA; she wanted to help shape it.
A junior at Lakeville North High School, Dharinya is passionate about healthcare, leadership, and building connections with professionals and organizations. She hopes to pursue a career in healthcare as a pediatrician and make a difference in children’s lives. Excited for the year ahead, Dharinya’s vision is to strengthen partnerships between Minnesota HOSA and healthcare organizations across the state. She hopes to create her own internship, networking opportunities, foster stronger relationships with organizations, and help connect members to organizations that can help with their future endeavors.
If Dharinya is not leading or mentoring students in HOSA, she is probably on the cricket field preparing for her next match or at her weekly Saturday speech tournaments. Outside of HOSA, she also participates in NHS, Youth Teaching Youth, Key Club, and Link Crew. She enjoys spending time outdoors, swimming, biking, and walking. She loves listening to true crime stories and documentaries and proudly considers herself a “certified bathroom singer.” Dharinya brings both energy and authenticity into every space she enters, qualities she hopes to carry into her work with Minnesota HOSA. She is honored to serve as your Industry Liaison. She is beyond excited for the year ahead and is dedicated to leading with purpose, resilience, and passion while creating opportunities that leave a lasting impact on members and organizations across the state
